SYNOT launched its machines in Greece!
The first video-lottery terminals of SYNOT Group are already in operation in Greece. After several years of prohibition which caused an expansion of illegal gaming, the country authorizes the legal operation again. SYNOT succeeded in the tender, into which were involved the suppliers from all around the world, as the only continental European supplier.
"For now we are dealing with the pilot operation in four venues. Approximately after three weeks there will be an evaluation of the effectiveness of the project and afterwards another machines will be placed in other operations. In total, there will be hundreds of operations, where will be located approximately 2,000 of our machines," said Roland Andrýsek, the Sales Director of SYNOT Group. In addition to this, Greece has plan to open hundreds of other venues in the following 15 months.
SYNOT has concluded a Contract on the supply of machines with the company OPAP, a company which has a monopoly in Greece, already in 2015. Implementation of the project was delayed because of unresolved legislation.
Up to now, there was a complete prohibition of the lottery market in Greece, which the lawmakers approved several years ago. During this period there had been approximately 150 000 illegal machines and hundreds of illegal venues. Therefore, the Greek policy decided that the segment should become legalized again, but with the strict rules.
In Greece, SYNOT Group plans, just like in other countries where it does business, branching out into other areas of investment. We are talking about IT technologies, telecommunication services, sports supporting or tourism-related investments.
